The North Oxford Overseas Centre
is run by the Oxford Overseas Student Housing Association, which is
a non-profit organisation with charity status.
The Centre was established more
than thirty years ago by a group of concerned citizens in Oxford,
with support from the British Council and Oxford City Council.
The Centre's aim is to provide
pleasant accommodation, at reasonable rates, in a caring community for
overseas students, research workers and visiting scholars from all
parts of the world.
The Centre has a Christian
foundation, seeking to glorify God and demonstrate God's love in
practical ways. There is no discrimination on racial or religious
grounds in the selection or treatment of residents.
The aim is to serve those in
greatest need and to create a multi-national home.
There is a varied programme of
social and cultural events.
