In addition to the general regulations that apply to residents, as detailed in the information about applying for accommodation, we have established a set of community rules in order to help everyone establish a peaceful and happy 'home away from home'.

The NOOC rules were written to try to ensure that every person's needs are considered by other residents.

The rules are listed below as they are written in the Resident's Handbook (issued to each new resident).

1.        Do not cause a nuisance to neighbours, staff or other residents at NOOC.

2.        Do not commit any form of harassment on the grounds of race, colour, sex, age, religion or disability, which may interfere with the peace and comfort of, or cause offence to, any other resident, members of his or her household, staff, visitors or neighbours.

3.        Do not commit any act which results in serious disruption of another resident's right to peacefully occupy any other part of the Centre, or which results in physical harm to any other resident or person connected with NOOC.

4.        Do not play any radio, TV or musical instrument so loudly that it causes nuisance or annoyance to other

5.        Do not keep any animals in the Centre.

6.        Do keep the interior of the Centre clean and in good condition.

7.         Do not remove or alter any part of the Centre, its fittings or furniture.

8.         Do not allow anyone else to live in the Centre who has not been approved by and registered with the Administrator.

9.         Do observe health, safety and fire regulations established by NOOC and do not engage in any activity that is likely to endanger the health or safety of residents and staff.
